You’ve found the perfect Chihuahua puppy and now you must bring it home with you. Is your home prepared, however? Is your family prepared? What must you do to prepare your home for your new arrival? If the answers to any of the above questions are no, then you must act quickly to make sure that everything is set for the new Chihuahua puppy to come home with you.
Preparing your family for the new Chihuahua pup should be easy. If you have small children, make sure you tell them that the new Chihuahua puppy will be very fragile. They won’t be allowed to play rough with the new puppy or they could hurt it. Even when the Chihuahua pup has grown up, they will still need to be careful, as Chihuahua puppies are very delicate and so are Chihuahua adults. Just tell them that it’s just as if you were bringing home a small baby, they must be careful so as not to hurt it while still giving it plenty of love and attention.

| 87% of all dogs DIE way too early because of the food they are fed. Find out how to STOP this happening to your Chihuahua! |
Make sure all electrical cords are covered and also make sure that all plants, especially poisonous ones, are taken up off the floor. Chihuahua puppies are very curious creatures and will love to chew on anything they can. Instead, make sure that you place small chew toys all throughout the house so that your Chihuahua puppy has much to do. If you don’t, your puppy can become nervous, anxious or bored, which spells nothing but trouble for your nice furniture.
Now that you’ve prepared your home and family, you’re going to want to prepare yourself for your new arrival. Make sure you have a food and water bowl and make sure you have plenty of food. They may not look like they can, but Chihuahua puppies can eat a lot, so make sure you have plenty of food on hand. Check with your vet which food is ok to feed your new Chihuahua pup.
A crate or kennel can be great tools for potty training. By keeping your puppy in a crate or kennel, and by letting them out only so often to use the restroom, your new Chihuahua pup will soon be accustomed to a potty schedule and you’ll soon see that your new Chihuahua puppy is housetrained.
There you have it, your family and home are prepared. Now, all you need to do is work on creating a living space for your Chihuahua puppy, as you should plan to have your Chihuahua for a very long time and you want him or her to be as comfortable and as happy as possible.
